Wait, didn't I already do this?

Huh, this is... weird... Here I was, releasing what I thought was a new game, and yet... it's already here?? Somehow??? But I don't remember uploading this, and I DEFINITELY don't remember writing the theme and mechanics the way this "first" set of files is...

Hmmmm. Alright, after much studying, I think I've figured this out.

Today, I released what I *thought* was a new game. But two Tuesdays ago, I apparently released that same game, but... different. And if my hypothesis is correct, this will happen again.

Why?

Well, my hypothesis is that I've become stuck in an "subliminal multiversal time loop." Unlike the standard fictional time loop where the same consciousness goes through the same loop repeatedly, my consciousness seems to "split" and have each "branch" experience it differently. My first "branch" seems to have experienced a more traditional model of a time loop (as seen here: https://twitter.com/lxnrhinners/status/1496590740109078528). This time around, I apparently didn't even notice I had escaped from a time loop — possibly because whatever event ended my looping also erased most of my memories of it.

What's interesting is this: it's evident that my drive to create Too O'Clock persisted across both loops. Much like my personality remained largely the same during and after the loops, there seems to be something about this game that's core to... me. Hrm.

This has implications.

Namely, I don't think there were only two branches. Whatever temporal maelstorm I got stuck in on Feb. 22 is still whirling... and that means that I — or rather, the various branched versions of me — are still whirling around in it. And it seems to take 2 weeks to spit me out.

Soooo, what does all this MEAN?

Long story short, until I can figure out how to extract (or prune 😬) all those other branches, or stop the storm, it's looking like a new consciousness is gonna be popping out every two Tuesdays... and releasing "their" version of Too O'Clock.

This is sort of exciting, though, because this "meta-loop" means that we'll get many different versions of the same game. And as I've seen already, my "second" version of Too O'Clock has noticable differences from the "first" version. I think such differences will only escalate.

Anyway, this is all just conjecture. We'll just have to wait and see if this will truly happen next next Tuesday! So keep your eyes peeled, I guess...

In the meantime enjoy both Too O'Clock and... er, Too O'Clock! 🕑
